Thread: Generic Repeater Question

    Default Generic Repeater Question

    Is the following possible?

Encoder --> Wowza Application --> Edgecast CDN.

I spoke with edgecast CDN and was told that the Wowza repeater application will resemble FMLE and will repeat the stream to their ingress server. I am confused as to which type of <StreamType> to use ; liverepeater-orogin or liverepeater-edge.

Has anyone had any luck with this?

    Thanks,

    Hi rudyjellis,

When I setup an application with a CDN they could just pull the stream from my Wowza server with a standard RTMP live app. So they used:
    rtmp://[Wowza IP]/live/myStream

I believe I used this tutorial to setup a live app (StreamType live) to stream from my encoder:
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....sed-encoder%29

But if they're suggesting to use a liverepeater StreamType, it would probably be the liverepeater-origin.

Thanks for the feedback, but they are unable to initiate a pull.

The alternative it to push a stream to the CDN using Push Publish api:

Thanks, but I don't have access to a Java programmer. Any documentation or guidance on where the code needs to reside on the server side?

The Wowza IDE includes a guide. General programming experience is enough to build and deploy the included example. The CDN might have a Wowza Push Publish module made for their service.
