Default Max Number of Transcoded Streams?

    Howdy...

I'm stuck having to transcode all my cameras from MPEG4 via Wowza, the server specs are as follows:

    Hardware:
    Intel Xeon E5606 @ 2.13 GHz (4 CPUs)
    8 GM RAM

    OS:
    Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit)

    JVM:
    Java 6 - update 29 (64-Bit)

I have a total of 17 cameras (and I'm planning on a total of 20 cameras) to transcode and stream, and I'm seeing only 14 cameras start up correctly. I think I've maxed it out. CPU runs at 100%, and about 5 GBs of RAM are free.

I've limited the transcoding to 160p only. Is there a way to make the steams even smaller? I'm not adverse to moving to 15 fps (or even 5 Fps), and a frame size of 320x240 .

    Will that help?

I did some testing and it looks like 10 is the max before the server starts bouncing up to 100% and back down to 50-60%.

Any ideas on more than 10 encoded streams? Or am I stuck having to get another server?

10 is very high, and evidently over the limit of your server. Take a look at the benchmarks:
