    Default I am trying to get MP4 embedded captions to work with Wowza and JW FLV

    I have upgraded to the newest Wowza 3 build with the latest patches..

    I have confirmed that my mp4 works with JW flv with HTML streaming..(Not Using WOWZA)

    When I try streaming an MP4 with embeded captions through Wowza no Data is reaching the JW Player.

    So far, I can confirm your finding. I'm not sure why these captions are working with progressive download and not rtmp. I will continue to look into it.

    Putting JW Player aside for the moment, this is how to get this data in Flash RTMP using Wowza SimpleVideoStreaming clientFlex example.
    1. You need this module in place (note that it is included with Wowza Modules Collection):
      http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....ubtitle-tracks

    2. Run Wowza and connect and play a stream in this application and note this output in the access log:
      INFO server comment - ModuleMediaReaderNotify#MediaReaderListener.onMediaReaderOpen: lerickson.mp4
      INFO server comment -   audio[0]: trackId:1 lang:und more:QTAtomtkhd {type:tkhd, offset:165, size:92 trackId:1 duration:33523 creationTime:Sun Jun 05 09:35:12 CDT 2011 modificationTime:Sun Jun 05 09:36:09 CDT 2011 trackWidth:0 trackHeight:0}

      For the Spanish we are going to use trackID 4: dataindex=4

    3. Using Flash Builder, I opened [wowza-install-dir]/examples/SimpleVideoStreaming /clientFlex/src/Player.as, and modified the createPlayStream function, find this line near the top of the function:
      nsPlay.client = nsPlayClientObj;
      Then add this below that:
      nsPlayClientObj.onTextData = function(infoObject:Object):void
      {
      	for (var propName:String in infoObject)
      	{
      		trace("  "+propName + " = " + infoObject[propName]);
      	}
      }
    4. Build the player, then stream using that index:

      Server: rtmp://[wowza-address]:1935/vod
      Stream: lerickson.mp4?dataindex=4

    5. See the caption output in Flash Builder console (I included "newTimecode" for reference):

      newTimecode: 3.712
      trackid = 9
      language = por
      text = Um homem

      newTimecode: 4.544
      trackid = 9
      language = por
      text = numa moto

      newTimecode: 5.291
      trackid = 9
      language = por
      text = ao redor do mundo
