Default wowza on AMI tuning to remove recurring audio echo

we are running wowza 2.2 on amazon and have an intermittent recurring audio loop, even when users have earphones on.

we need to tune wowza on amazon to optimize audio by adjusting the TX on the eth0 and eth1, or perhaps changing the io scheduler

    Our specs are:
    - app is based on Flex SDK 4.5.1.21328.
    - using Wowza 2.2
    - targeting version 10.3 of the Flash Player.
    - Audio is at 11025 Hz.
    - using standard echo cancellation
    - Audio codec is NellyMoser.

can you recommend correct wowza tuning settings in order to remove echo?

There are no server-side settings in Wowza that will affect audio echo

We are live streaming video chat and recording these audio / video streams via wowza.

When we increase keyframe rate above 1 frame, chatter A's audio stream from various Apple laptops or Apple desktops sounds normal during live chat - but when recorded - chatter A's audio in recordings sounds like a chipmunk. Meanwhile, chatter B's audio streaming from various PC's has normal sounding audio both live and in recordings

When we decrease the keyframe rate from 10 back to 1, the audio from Apple computers recordings sound normal in recording, no chipmunk audio.

So the chipmunk audio is occurring when keyframe > 1 and from Apple computers.

How can we increase keyframe > 1 (to optimize our bandwidth usage) and also record normal sounding audio from Apple computers?

We increased microphone.rate from 11 to 22 KHz to achieve normal sounding audio in audio / video recordings. This worked successfully.

However, in some recordings, chat partner's audio/video streams are completely missing:

or audio of 1 of chatters is corrupted:

    https://www.chattrspace.com/video/in...e/joe/joe-2224

In backend, it shows that we are recording some files with size 0.

And on second image, it can be seen that one of files for specific chat session is also with size 0.

We checked couple of files where chat session had both files recorded and found out that audio in one of files is not recorded like it should be.

It appears to us that all issues are related to recording files on wowza.

Have you experienced issues like this with streaming over Wowza ?

Are there recommendations you can give us for troubleshooting and fixing this?

    Hi
Can you double check for me that your audio is "NellyMoser" as this sounds like a codec issue.
This is when the audio codec is not recognized and so doesn't write the audio track, which is the result that you have described.

Do users configure there own encoder or is it pre-configured and if pre-configured can they change it?
What format are you recording to??,
If you are recording mp4 for example NellyMoser wouldn't work...

Wowza 2.2 is quite far behind on features and fixes, you might just need to upgrade the server.

We are using Nellymoser. We were considering transferring to speex. Are there any compliance issues/complexities with Speex?

The encoder is pre-configured and they cannot change the configuration.

We are recording to flv format.

We are upgrading to Wowza v3 now and testing.

Are there any errors in logs that are commonly associated with the problem we are having, or most likely causes that you think we should check for?

    Hi
To be honest there are no complex reasons that Nellymosser shouldn't be working fine for you at the moment so I can't see any benefit to changing, and debugging will take longer if you change now as you/we will have to do all that we have done so far again.

If you have started testing in Wowza 3, then please let me know what the results are as this may fix your problem.
