Thread: Streaming video from Android to Wowza

Question Streaming video from Android to Wowza

I've connected the media recorder on android to the Wowza instance by setting its output to a socket that connects to Wowza. However, I think it is stuck on the handshake. I've posted the output below.

What is the recommended way to stream from Android to Wowza? I'm don't see a file being saved either. I've set the StreamType to live-record.

I connected through FMLE and Android Broadcaster app and I'm able to record/save the stream. I tried another Android App

I'm not sure if I need to implement RTMP and embed the camera stream (which might be RTP?).

    Thanks a lot!!

    Default

I'm wondering if RTSP needs to be enabled on Wowza or is it enabled by default? If Android supports RTSP, it is probably sending the packets in that format. Any ideas?

    Hello theoutlander,

You should be able to stream RTSP to Wowza by default. There is the bigVencoder for streaming from Android to Wowza which you might like to take a look at: http://www.wowza.com/forums/showthre...ght=#post84050
