    Default Transcoder Crashes Server

I'm running Fedora 16 (was on ubuntu but same problem)

Every time i turn the transcoder on it crashes the server and logs a error report. The specifics of the reports are

    # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
    #
    # SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x00007f628e233bcc, pid=12028, tid=140060997433088
    #
    # JRE version: 7.0
    # Java VM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (21.0-b17 mixed mode linux-amd64 compressed oops)
    # Problematic frame:
    # C [libmc_enc_avc.so+0x5cbcc] h264OutVideoGetAPIExt+0x3265c
Have followed every guide i can find and updated to all the latest software. It happens only when an encode block is set to H.264.

I am trying to use the standard transrate.xml template to take a wirecast rtmp feed and set up adaptive bit rate from a high end feed to other lower end devices (ie. mobiles). I have edited the transrate.xml to turn off all block and systematically tested everyone with the same result. As soon as the server tries to transcode the file it crashes

I can include any other reports you may need but i have tried everything i can to no avail.

REALLY REALLY NEED A FIX ON THIS ASAP

Best to pick just one thread so it doesn't get confusing. I had already answered you here: http://www.wowza.com/forums/showthre...-on-CentOS-6.1

We traced this problem to being related to a Sandy Bridge processor (which Charlie said in another thread has a problem Mainconcept are looking at)

The following patch should fix this issue:

    WowzaMediaServer3.0.3-patch14.zip

It includes a workaround for a MainConcept crash on Linux.

i have since upgraded to jre7 - server still crashes although i havnt yet been able to extract an error message (its a production server)

pulling same stream to my test server does not see the same crash happen but then again i only have a single stream to test server

Thanx for any help, this has been a frustrating experience
