Default Using DOTNET to detect CODEC of a Video File

Is there a way in DOTNET we can detect the CODEC of a video file. This will help us in identifying whether a particular video file is supported by WOWZA

    Thanks

Server-side, you can get video and audio codec in IMediaStreamActionNotify3, or with FLVUtils.getVideoCodec(AMFPacket).

You can use HTTPProvider to communicate directly with Wowza from your application server.

But I'm not sure how to do it with HTTPProvider. It would be easier with a Flash application.

We would like to get this information before sending this file to the WOWZA server. Is there any VB.DOTNET call we can make to get the CODEC of the video file?

    Thanks

    Richard,

Thank you for your response. Do you have a sample of how to call the FLVUtils.getVideoCodec(AMFPacket) function from the application server. We would like to find out if a Video file is compatible (h.264 encoded) with the WOWZA server before sending the file to the WOWZA server

    Thanks for your help

Not really sure how to do that with HTTPProvider from your app server.

But take a look at these.

From one of the above, you could post to your application server with HTTPUtils. However we recommend minimal use of HTTP calls in Wowza application modules.
