Default module for Autontication with mysql

    Hi
I have looked in the MediaSecurity module but i have a few questions.

    1. I need to find a reference to build a module that check the username and password in a database, I need to implement this only for specific protocols lets say rtsp.
    2. is there more information that i can gather on Security Token other then what i have in the Media Security PDF? I am using rtsp, hls, rtmp and http I need to make them all secure as possible but i still have troubles on how to set the securetoken.

In a different subject I am writing logs now to my database.
how can i calculate the overall time that a user watched one of my streams? i can see the xduration but on which row?

i guess that my questions have simple solutions but i am a php programer and relatively new in java so i need a little guidance.

    Thanks

    /Asaf

    Hi
1.) You can find examples on how to talk to a database here,
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....ase-PostgreSQL
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....-to-a-Database

2.) This tutorial should help you, this will be a base but will need to be modified for your needs,

Try this for ideas on user time viewing a stream,

#2 in JasonH's post is the way to extend MediaSecurity Addon to authenticate against a db

In your access log, look for rows with x-event "destroy", and take a look at sc-byte, duration, and other values for http & rtsp session and rtmp-client connection totals.

Actually, this is the article I was referring to (I thought it was #2 in Jason's list but was wrong):
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....erBase-Example

The MediaSecurity addon and the above extension to it only work with Flash RTMP clients. For RTSP access control, take a look at this example:

Regading IDE workflow, install Wowza locally to use with the IDE. You will move .jar files from development to production.

    Hi Richard
I want if i get it right.

    1. as i understand accesstoken can only work with rtmp (and the secure version of it) is that correct?
    2. if i want to create the user/pass auth model with db on the client side, the client should pass the username and pass as part of the url.
is that correct? if so how can i protect the stream so the stream itself will be somehow incripted and will not contain the user password info.
    3. in my configuration i have clients that use rtsp, http and rtmp is their a basic model for user/pass model that can handle all stream types and not a diffrent module for each type? just build function for each type onxxxxconnect?

    1, yes

    2, yes

3, no, not really. There is one way that will handle all 3 http streaming types, another for RTSP

    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....-and-San-Jose)

    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....TSP-RTP-stream

You can write one module to handle authentication for different client types with same db connection and authentication.
