Thread: Ec2 Repeater Edge - error on repeater

Default Ec2 Repeater Edge - error on repeater

I've seen the following error twice today on our edge server:

    LiveMediaStreamReceiver.internalConnect: [e....compute-1.amazonaws.com:1935]:java.nio.channels.UnresolvedAddressException
Wowza actually stops when this happens. Would assigning an elastic ip address to the origin help to make this problem go away?

    Thanks.

I don't think ElasticIP will help.

Did you restart or stop the origin at some point?

Is there an bad character like new line character in the url or .stream file?

    Are you using IPV6?

Probably the origin Wowza process was restarted. Does that require a restart on the repeater to prevent this situation? The .stream files are fine, as they work.

I don't think the edge should stop working as a result of this condition. Can you verify that, can you reproduce this?

I have restarted the origin, and this did not happen again. I haven't heard about any internal issues in Amazon's network, but I would guess that is where this error came from. Unless you have any other ideas?

Probably, yes. Keep an eye on it. Let us know.
