Do you want to know when a RTSP client starts to play a stream. This will do that:
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....TSP-RTP-stream

Or do you want to know when a MediaCaster stream is started?

Do you see any ERROR or WARN lines in the access or error log?

Running Wowza in stand-alone (/bin/startup.bat) is very helpful for testing and development because you can see log output in the console.
