    Default Cupertino source

    Hi Forum,

Can Wowza (be made to) take a VoD / live Cupertino source (m3u8) and output to RTMP / other standard Wowza output formats? It can't find anything that says it can be done through config, but can a Module be built / does one already exist which enables this?

Many apologies if this has already been covered off somewhere on the forum -- I did a search and found nothing specific but maybe I was using the wrong search terms.

    Cheers,

    Tim

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for the quick reply. You don't have a link, do you? I've looked through the showcase section and the only thing I spotted that was iOS-related was "Livu" stuff but that seems to publish to Wowza via RTSP.

    Cheers,

    Hi
Yes is does stream to Wowza using RTSP but will output an RTMP like you wanted, you didn't specify an input protocol so I assumed that would be fine.

iPhone (RTSP) --> Wowza --> Flash player (RTMP)

Is this not what you wanted??

Sounds like you are trying to consume a m3u8 file or live stream. That is not supported in Wowza.

    Hi Richard,

That's right: m3u8 (H.264 / AAC segments) -> Wowza -> RTMP. Is it feasible that I could build a plug-in using the module API to implement this or is there some fundamental issue that means this would not work?

    Cheers,

    Tim,

No, I very much doubt it.
