    Default Video lagging detection

    Hi,

is there any way to to detect video lagging/packet loss when restreaming from an IP camera? I would like to report it live to our users so they would know that they don't have enough bandwidth.

    Thanks
    Rob

There is the BWChecker Wowza example that contains client/bwcheck.fla, which you can use to check the client's bandwidth.

    OK, I'll give a try.

But is there any way to count lost frames on Wowza side when restreaming from RTSP IP Camera? I think counting lost frames is better indicator that measuring bandwidth.

Also, you can use this jitter buffer and turn logging on:

So no way to get these values programmatically?

I'm not sure re jitter buffer. The BWCheck results can be shown to the user.

We do not have a way to gather packet loss information. The packet loss setting mentioned above will log the packet loss but there are not hooks to gather the packet loss data internally.
