Default Empty playlist in iOS livestream

    Hello there,

I'm trying to setup an iOS live stream with Wowza Media Server 3.0.5. Build 1220 on Windows Server 2008 (on Amazon EC2). I'm sending a stream ("test") from the Adobe Flash Live Encoder 3.1 with 16 kbps h.264 Baseline 3.0 video and 32 kbit/s HE-AAC audio (also tried AAC and MP3). So the playlist will be found under http://server/live/test/playlist.m3u8 and of course it is found there. But the inner playlist (the one with the sessionId attached) is empty. (I also tried adding the _definst_ segment to the url, no change)

    #EXTM3U
    #EXT-X-VERSION:2
    #EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:10
    #EXT-X-MEDIA-SEQUENCE:1
    #EXT-X-ENDLIST
How can I solve this? See my config below (although I just followed the steps from http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....sed-encoder%29).
Btw, with video on demand the iOS playback works!

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Cheers,
    Alex

FMLE is an RTMP based encoder. You should be using this tutorial for setup:
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....based-encoder)

Is FMLE connecting to the server ok? Any errors while connecting?
What's the url in FMLE you use to connect to the server?
You said that in FMLE you are using with 16 kbps h.264 Baseline 3.0 video and 32 kbit/s HE-AAC audio
Is the 16 kbps a typo? That's too low for sending video
Can you post a screen shot of your FMLE settings?

    Hi Daren,

thanks for your answer, I'm a little late in reply as there was the weekend.
Well, the FMLE can connect and it can stream. We are using the URL http://ec2-xx-xx-xx-xx.eu-west-1.ama...:80/smoothlive to connect. "smoothlive" is the application configured for cupertino, smooth and san jose streaming. Wowza is configured to run on Port 80, "cupertino" is the name of the stream. You can see the FMLE settings here: http://i.imgur.com/Wewvo.png I changed the video bitrate, 16 kbps were just for testing, now publishing with 200 and 112 for audio, still no chunks within the playlist.

    Hi Daren,

I found the error, I had a speeling mistake and wrote "cupertinostreampacketizer instead "cupertinostreamingpacketizer" *facepalm*
Thanks, this can now be closed :-)
