Default intermittent publish problem with vlc

    Hello All,

I am having an intermittent problem with Wowza stream publishing.
    Scenario is as below.
    - Run vlc to transcode an RTSP stream and create an SDP file under wowza-content folder.
    - Then start the stream with the sdp using the MediaCaster API.
    - This usually works without a problem.

But sometimes the stream is destroyed and unpublished. The success and failure results happen under the same network conditions.
I mean I just run it now and it succeeds, and then try again after 30 seconds it fails, etc..

Below are some logs from Wowza that appears just before unpublish. I would appreciate if anyone can comment on the below logs and what may be happening here.
It happens right after PLAY response from the camera.

    Hello erbora00,

    What is your VLC command?

You could try a different technique: http://www.wowza.com/forums/content.php?90

There is this tool to reset problem streams: http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....onitorAdvanced

Or try RTMP/RTSP push with ffmpeg:
ffmpeg -re -i sample.mp4 -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f flv rtmp://127.0.0.1/live/myStream
ffmpeg -re -i sample.mp4 -acodec copy -vcodec copy -f rtsp -muxdelay 0.1 rtsp://127.0.0.1:1935/live/myStream

    Hi Randall,

Below is an example VLC command I use.
    G:\programs\vlc-1.0.3\vlc.exe --play-and-exit rtsp://CAM-IP/axis-media/media.amp?streamprofile=Mobile --sout #transcode{venc=x264{keyint=60},vcodec=x264,vb=500,scale=1}:rtp{dst=127.0.0.1,port-video=10010,port-audio=10020,sdp=file://G:\programs\wowza.3.0.3\content\1053.sdp}

I will check the tool you mentioned.

So is it not possible to say from the above logs why Wowza may be sending TEARDOWN after getting the successful PLAY response?

    Thanks.

Also how is the technique you mentioned is different than what I am doing?
I have to use the MediaCaster API if that's what you are referring to.
Other than that I believe the VLC command should be ok..

I just need to know why the TEARDOWN...?

    Thanks..
