Thread: Feature request: TranscoderVideoOverlayFrame accept BufferedImage or Base64 image

    Lightbulb Feature request: TranscoderVideoOverlayFrame accept BufferedImage or Base64 image

    I'm generating an overlay on the fly and currently having to save the file and then pass that path to TranscoderVideoOverlayFrame.setImagePath().

    Would be nice if I could pass in a Base64-encoded image or even better a BufferedImage object to skip this step.

    The Base-64 way I imagine would look like this: setImagePath("data:image/png;base64," + b64Png);

    I understand that these APIs aren't documented (yet) but saw a forum post where the docs should be coming soon so figured I'd dig in.

    Thanks

    The documentation should be available around the May time-frame. You will be able to send image data in the form of a rgba buffer.

    Hey Lisa,

    Has the documentation been updated? I see there's Wowza 3.1.1 but couldn't find any reference to TranscoderStreamUtils.nativeImageToBufferedImage() so I suspect not.

    Thanks

    Wowza 3.1.1 includes several fixes/enhancements described in the release notes, but no we have not updated the Transcoder documentation with this specific information yet.

    Hi EnderTech,

    There's a reference to TranscoderStreamUtils.nativeImageToBufferedImage() in http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....n-HTTPProvider. Is this what you're looking for?

    Thanks,

    Dave
