Default An Add-on for this website failed to run.

I have successfully installed Wowza Media Server 3.0.5, but when I try to double click on the "simplevideostreaming.html" file... I get a window with "Simple Video Streaming" .... The Wowza logo and Wowza Media Systems.... then a small square with a red 'X" in it.... and at the bottom the words "An Add-on for this website failed to run." Did I miss a step?

    Hi
Can you send a screen shot of this for us please?

I don't think that you missed a step but its best to double check the steps you took.

The tutorial for live streaming (RTMP) is here if you need it for reference,

let me know if you solve this issue.

Hi Jason, How can I paste the screenshot on this forum? I only see how to send an Image via URL.

    Hi
Sorry I haven't posted a picture before I didn't know it had those restrictions.

Did you try checking the application from the start with the guide I sent you?
You could try stopping and starting Wowza that makes all changes that have been made take effect.

    Hi Jason,

I did try stopping and restarting the Wowza Server, but i get the same results. I am trying to do the Test in the Installation Guide to make sure everything is set up correctly. I never get the screen to enter the Server location and file to stream due to the results I get mentioned above. Here are the instructions I am following:

    A Quick Streaming Test

By default the installer creates a simple Video On Demand (VOD) application which enables you to quickly test to see if the streaming server is running properly and able to serve content.

Play using Adobe Flash player (RTMP)

    Double-click: [install-dir]/examples/SimpleVideoStreaming/client/simplevideostreaming.html

enter the information below and click the Play button.

    Code:
    Server: rtmp://[wowza-address]/vod
Stream: mp4:sample.mp4The player will then commence playback of the sample video file.

    Hi
I asked around and apparently the small square with a red X in it may be a flash problem.
This means that the flash plug-in for your browser may not be installed.

    What browser are you using?
