Exclamation My page is only showing the Build and Version, Cannot get examples to display

    Hello,

I am an absolute newbie to Wowza as well as Amazon and their ec2 server, so it kind of looks like I have a long journey in front of me. I have installed the Wowza Server 3.0.3.07 AMI on my current EC2. I have gone through most of the tutorials and I have searched the forums thoroughly; however, I cannot seem to get any of the examples to show on my server.

    The URL is at http://www.flipitlive.com.

Whenever I go to any page all it does is display the version and build number on the page:

    'Wowza Media Server 3 for Amazon EC2 3.0.3.07 build942'

I installed the examples and even whenever I go to an example 'html' page, the HTML is not being displayed, instead it is just showing the same screen the server number and the build version. Here is the example page that I am trying to access, which was referenced in many of the tutorials: http://www.flipitlive.com/examples/S...streaming.html

Is there a configuration that I need to change so that way an 'HTML' file is recognized as an HTML file? This could be something really simple that I'm just not seeing. As I said I have never really used the Amazon ec2 before, so this is all kind of new to me.

If you could help me out with this issue, I would be extremely grateful

    Thanks so much

    -Tony

    Tony,

You need a player. A Flash based player for RTMP streaming is the most common option. Start with the Wowza SimpleVideoStreaming player:

    [wowza-install-dir]/examples/SimpleVideoStreaming/client/simplevideostreaming.html

    Follow this tutorial:
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....on-demand-file

For an easy production ready player, take a look at JW Player:
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....h-Wowza-Server

Or Flash Media Playback is very easy to use:

Oh, also, you need to move the examples to a web server or your local computer to run them

    Hi Richard,

Thanks so much for the fast response. I have went through the recommendations you have made and I have made sure the examples are installed. I'm assuming the [wowza-install-dir] is inside of /usr/local/WowzaMediaServer/ in other words the same directory that the 'content' folder is located in.

I am not able to view any type of file, it's so strange, Like I said I try accessing the example: http://www.flipitlive.com/examples/S...streaming.html

And all that is displayed on the page is the notice that I'm running the Wowza Media Server.

The same thing goes for: http://www.flipitlive.com/live/, if I go to that application folder, I don't get anything except for the notice of running the Wowza Media Server.

The amazon link for this is at: ec2-23-21-59-91.compute-1.amazonaws.com, so to access the live application I should go to: ec2-23-21-59-91.compute-1.amazonaws.com/live/ (which is the same as http://flipitlive.com/live/), I have also gone through and tried to create the sample application http://www.flipitlive.com/myapplication/; however, every page seems to be the same. Anytime I trie and access any of the files inside of the server, the only output I get is the screen that prints out:

    'Wowza Media Server 3 for Amazon EC2 3.0.3.07 build942'

I would like to get moving from this issue as soon as I can, so if you could help me out that would be fantastic.

    thanks again.

It's because Wowza is not a web server. You have to move those files to a web server, or to your local file system. Move all the files from one of the example /client folders
