Thread: Paid License not working properly

Default Paid License not working properly

    Hello,

I have setup a normal 'lickey' instance. I then purchased a monthly subscription and everything seemed to work perfectly for a few hours. Then after midnight last night, I see this in the error log:

    ERROR server comment 2012-05-04 00:27:06 - - - - - 1.85 - - - - - - - - HTTPUtils.HTTPRequestToByteArray: java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/product-codes

Hit license limit for publishing streams. Publishing stream is stopped.

Here is my license. It's seems like it was installed properly but I still get the error above: http://23.23.213.25:1935/

    Thank you for your help!

This means either the license was not applied to /conf/Server.license, or you did not re-start Wowza after you applied it, or perhaps it is not plain text or a .txt extension was added. What do you see in a browser at this address:

    http://[wowza-ec2-public-dns]:1935

Hi Richard,in my URL:1935 I see this: Wowza Media Server 3 Monthly Edition 3.1.0 build1410

    Any thoughts?

    Hi
When do you see this error, is it in the logs when you start Wowza or does this happen every minute or so?

    Hi Jason,

It happened at the beginning but I re-started again and I think it's OK. I'll wait till tonight and see if it comes back.

    Many thanks

    Hi,

Doublecheck that your Server.license file contains the correct license. Also, that the file does not have a .txt extension.

    Hi Guys.
I have similar issue but without the limitation part.

I have 2 instances on AWS and 2 separate perpetual licences on those machines. Nevertheless, I still get the following in my error log:

    ERROR server comment 2013-09-12 12:14:17 - - - - - 0.928 - - -- - - - - HTTPUtils.HTTPRequestToByteArray: java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/product-codes

I have double-checked whether any of the below advice work, but none did.

    Help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

This message occurs when running on an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) with a Bring Your Own (LicKey) Monthly or Daily subscription or Perpetual Edition license key.
Is this the only error you get in the logs? If so then this message can be ignored.

If you are getting other error messages it may be that you are using the wrong license key.

    Thanks Salvadore,

One other message that I have atmo is :

    ERROR server comment 2013-09-12 12:03:41 - - -- - 1.148 - - - - - - -- JMXConfig: error: java.net.MalformedURLException: Cannot give port number without host name

which would be nice to mute as well :-)
