Default Showing short videos at fixed intervals in live stream

    Hi,

A customer of ours is looking for a solution where he can show short 20 secs video every 3 mins in a live stream. So when the live stream starts, every three minutes we will send a 20 secs video (this will be a mp4 file stored in the content directory).

Since they are not open to changing their clients, we are exploring a server side solution. They have clients on desktop , Android and Blackberry. So we will be using rtmp and rtsp .

Is there a way to switch between the live stream and VOD file without and visible distortion on the client side? We explored stream class but can we send different videos (vod files) to different users using that?

Thanks a lot! You have a fantastic forum!!

This is a client issue. Try to make the video and audio codecs of the live and vod stream as close to identical as possible.

Also, the stream class streams work across clients. RTMP, HTTP, RTSP.
