Long Garbage Collection pauses and Choppy Streams

Hello all,

For the pass few days I have been trying to trackdown some problems in our streaming application. My application is a webcam chat (one direction video) on a single wowza machine. Every so often we will notice that the streamer video stream will all of a sudden start to become choppy or speedup/fastfoward and rewind. Also I used the PerformanceCounter on the streamers to see what their bandwidth was (snapshot every 60 seconds) all are in the 100k+ difference (current-previous bytes) which seems pretty good as compared to another site I manage that’s doing around 50-60k difference but they are at 640x480 while we are at 320x240 So I don’t think its a bandwidth issue for the streamer

Box specs : 8 cores, L5520 @ 2.27GHz - 16G ram

As I understand it, the -Xms setting should be lower than the -Xmx setting. Try -Xmx8000M -Xms7000M

Have you tried with no additional GC options, just setting -server flag, as in step 6 of the Tuning Guide

You include -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode which has been removed from suggestion in step 6, so try without that.
