Question Is it possible to reload MediaCache.xml without having to restart Wowza

I would like to know if it is possible to reload MediaCache.xml without having to restart Wowza?
I have tried using JMX to shutdown the instance but MediaCache.xml did not get reloaded.

I would have said no. At least not by default.

But, amazingly, another forum user just hacked up a perl script to do just that. See here.

Thanks for the link. But what I really want to do is to reload MediaCache.xml after adding or removing entries of MediaCacheSource.

Oh isn't that "a script to update the cache this way when a new file is uploaded"?

Yes, the script is doing as per your description.
But I am not concerned with the content of the cache at the moment.
The script updates the content in MediaCacheStore, while what I need is a way to apply new MediaCacheSource(s) being added (or removed) in MediaCache.xml without restarting Wowza.

    Hi,

This is not available yet, but I know it has been asked for before and I get the impression it is being looked at.
