i had someone tell me this:

handbrake isn't geared by default to be CBR either. any streaming, adaptive or not, should be CBR for best deliver. i wouldn't recommend variable, because that's not how rtmp streaming works efficiently. you'll likely hit more buffering that way. plus, HLS won't work for iOS from wowza if you don't have your keyframe interval aligned with your media servers
OK what does
keyframe interval -----> aligned with your media servers
mean?

I know it was said here that encodes must be

key frame aligned sets as required for switching in multi-bitrate streaming
and to that, handbrake support said:

As long as all settings are identical (except for bitrate), the frame types should be identical across multiple encodes of the same source - which sounds like what they mean by "keyframe-aligned"
so IS that what was meant by
key frame aligned sets as required for switching in multi-bitrate streaming
