Thread: HTTPLiveStreamRecord does not work

    Default HTTPLiveStreamRecord does not work

    Hello,

i've installed the LiveStreamRecord module previously and it work fine with the flash interface

I am trying today to use the http way.

I've modified the "/conf/VHost.xml" file. and tyring to record.

    http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx:8086/livestream...startRecording

This message appear: Wowza Media Server 3 Perpetual Edition 3.0.4 build1127

    but no record is done.

In my Application.xml (angers' conf) the record is suppose to be in Angers folder (so not in the "content" folder)

and the streamname is due to a re-stream an unprotected stream from Akamai

    any ideas?

    Simplify.

    1. Test using FMLE or VLC instead of Akamai.
    2. Run Wowza using /startup.bat from a CMD window, so you can see the log output in real time. You should see info related to the LiveStreamRecord Module.

Wowza is running on a debian: so ./shutdown.sh instead of startup.bat ?

    my mistake,

i forgot to restart Wowza after VHost.xml ' s modification

    it works now.

    Thanks a lot!

but this question is still "alive"

Wowza is running on a debian: so ./shutdown.sh instead of startup.bat ?

ok it works. it record in my Angers folder but with angers.stream_x.mp4
but if i want to change the name of the record, i suppose i use this option: output=[path]/[filename].[ext] (Default is empty, files are recorded to content folder)
like i said before, in the conf file i wrote that my records are recorded in this folder "Angers" (WowzaMediaServer/Angers).
What is the way to keep "Angers" as a record folder and choose a "free" name??

thanks a lot for your time

Take a look this built-in module for moving files after recording:
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....m-live-streams

If you need finer control, use IMediaWriterActionNotify:
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....write-listener

    Thanks,

But i don't need to move the file.
I need to rename the file. because for the moment stream-name is used. but before recording, i want to have the choice of my file name.

This module or the API will rename as well. You can rename without moving location.

    It is "output"

    http://username:password@[wowza-address]:1935/livestreamrecord?app=live&streamname=myStream&action=startRecording&output=otherfilename.flv
Check the README.html file in the package.

it's not working. I use this:

    http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx:8086/livestream...erfilename.flv

it works when i do not add &output=xxx but the name will be angers.stream.flv

    any idea?
