Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder VBR in h.264

I did read in an adobe forum that FMLE use variable bitrate when enconding in H.264 (the bitrate informed in encoder is like a average target) and using VP6 codec it not exceed the video bitrate.

But this VBR mode can cause issues, because in some peak the internet connection could not have upload to serve that peak. And it seems that this cause issues with the wowza module that limit bitrate, because it could identify the peak as an bitrate abuse.

There is no way to limit this peak using H.264? Do you know if exists some other rtmp encoder that have an CBR mode in H.264? Or is this a feature of H.264?

I do not know for sure (tho skimming forum posts seems to confirm that FMLE does not do CBR), but my guess is that it is using some form of “constrained vbr”, i.e. variable within a range.

because it could identify the peak as an bitrate abuse.

You are right, that is a problem with that Module

I can fix that, I will post back.
