Thread: Streams per server

    Default Streams per server

We will be installing a new server for one of our customers. They will be covering live events and I see a lot of performance information about pushing out the streams but is there a limitation on how many streams they can publish if they purchase the perpetual license? They plan on no more then 3 concurrent events.

There is no license limitations for perpetual or subscription based versions of Wowza. The only limitations are bandwidth and server performance.

    Thank you.

This will be a new power edge 520 server with two Intel Xeon E5-2407 CPUs and 32GB of ram. We will be running 10K RPM SAS 6Gbps drives running in raid 5.

    Hi Josh,

Does the customer know how many clients they will be serving, or do they have a maximum limit on how many they wish to serve?

If the answer is no, and they wish to serve as many as possible, then you might want to investigate using Wowza with Amazon EC2, since this is designed to scale up on demand.

They will have 400 -700 viewers. We have the conectivity in the data center to supply this. I was think of using amazon as a backup or if we need it use it as an edge server.
