    Default Replacing IceCast with Wowza

    Hi,

I'm looking into replacing IceCast with Wowza but I'm having a hard time understanding the nomenclature regarding streaming. Is it possible to stream HTTP/ShoutCast via Wowza or is only re-streaming (i.e. keeping the IceCast streams but run them through Wowza) possible? I.e. what are my options if I'm streaming live audio by using IceCast today, and have three streams with let's say AAC, MP3, and Vorbis codecs respectively, and wanted to move all of them to Wowza without having to change the users/clients player apps since they only consume ShoutCast streams?

    Cheers,
    Linus

    Hi
You will be re-streaming from the IceCast server. The audio you can send to Wowza from the IceCast server :
    ICY (SHOUTcast/icecast) Audio: AAC, AAC-LC, HE-AAC (aacPlus), MP3

The tutorial for re-streaming from SHOUTcast/icecast is here,
