Default WOWZA mpeg-ts udp streaming to multiple STBs

    Hello,

Is it possible to stream to many set-top-boxes the same mpeg-ts UDP stream? I can't use multicast.

I want to use WOWZA to distribute the same live mpeg-ts stream to multiple devices.

    Thanks!

Yes, Wowza re-streams from UDP source: one stream in, many out; as many clients as your bandwidth and server capacity will allow.

    Thanks for your reply Richard,

How does a STB call for the stream?

Normally mpeg-ts udp is point to point, the encoder stream to ip 1.2.3.4:9999

Decoder ip is 1.2.3.4 and it listen to 1.2.3.4:9999

Does Wowza pushes the streams to specified clients IPs ?

I think most or all support rtsp and some support HLS (cupertino) streaming. Refer to its docs.

Wowza does not push to clients for playback, the STB will initiate streaming.

When Wowza re-streams from mpeg-ts the output from Wowza can be rtmp, rtsp or http (hls, hds, smooth).
