Default Combining streams to play on ios and any device....

i have a project where i need combining parts of different mp4 to make a final viewable video.... as you can se in this example with flowplayer its possible and works great with wowza!Combining streams

Our next example combines two video files into one stream. We alternate between two videos playing 10 seconds at a time from each before switching to the other video. Every time we switch back to a video it resumes from the same time it was previously stopped at. There are no gaps when the stream switches, it comes as one continuous bitstream from the server. Flowplayer's controlbar shows the two streams in one timeline corresponding to their total duration.

My hope is to use this kind of playlist serverside on wowza to get this edited clip effect working any platform....

    Thanks

    Daniel,

At present this is not possible across clients. It is only possible for Flash RTMP client using this method:

Richard, from your point of view, is it something realistic to do if i put a good java programer on it to build a module?
will he have all required from wowza API?

    Thanks

    Daniel,

No, this is not something you can accomplish by extending Wowza. It will require core changes that are out of reach of the api. It is on the roadmap, but I don't have a time frame

For what it's worth, I've had good results with server side stream switching and HLS, provided the media sources are encoded with common parameters.

RTSP is a different beast entirely. The stream always breaks on the switch regardless of the client.
