    Default Multibitrate streams not aligned - Wowza 2 + origin/edge + FMLE + JWplayer

    Hi,

Im using multibitrate for live streams and i have problems when Jwplayer "auto-switchs" using adaptative plugin.

I think this issue happens because my streams are not aligned on the edge servers:

    2012-10-01	13:38:46	ART	comment	server	INFO	200	-	Key frame[live/app2/stream1]: dts:4413549 pts:4413589	-	-	-	34422.458	--	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	-	--

On the origin servers, all streams are aligned:

I followed this guide and made the changes on both origin and edge servers: http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....rame-alignment

Could anyone help me? I cant seem to get the all of the three streams aligned.

    Thanks!

Thks for the super quick reply!

Ive seen that guide but it seems it only applies to San Jose/Flash HTTP, Cupertino/Apple HTTP Live Streaming or Smooth Streaming.

How can i do this for RTMP?

It should work for Flash RTMP too, but you can also do FCSubscribe for each stream from a Flash client. To do this in JW Player use Flashvar rtmp.subscribe=true

    Great!
Is it mandatory to use "rtmp.subscribe=true" in JW when using origin/edge? Maybe that was my issue in the first place...

If the origin streams are aligned doing one of these things should make the edge streams aligned too

Should i live my origins as follow?
    <StreamType>liverepeater-origin</StreamType>
    Or change to ?
    <StreamType>live</StreamType>

If you are doing live repeater and it is an origin, use liverepeater-origin.

    Thks!

How much difference in alignment should be a problem? Im seeing this difference in one of my origins:

If that continues it will be a problem. Do they start to line up, or stay misaligned?

The Wowza Transcoder will produce aligned streams.
