Default Solution for streaming HD Video server ?

    Hi,
We have a project about streaming HD video (720p). We have ~ 2TB video (each file ~ 1GB) and ~ 200 users online.
And I want to use Wowza server to streaming with RTMPE protocol. So, I want to know that How the server hardware can run it ?
I intend to build a (cheap) server with configuration:
    CPU: E3-1230
    RAM: 16GB
HDD: 4x WD RE4 1TB SATA II (Raid 10 Hardware)
    Bandwidth: 500Mbps

I want to know that the above server can run smoothly ? And can anybody give me the best solution ?
Thanks and Sorry for so bad english

    Hi
With 200 viewers @ 2Mbps your bandwidth will reach 400Mbps which will give you a 20% overhead for you 500Mbps limit.

In your hardware setup the disks you have just mentioned don't have the capacity for you to store 2Tb.
The disks chosen are 250Gb each (250Gb x4 = 1Tb) you will also have to factor in that the raid array will also lower usable disk space.

    Thanks JasonH
I have confusion, I intend using HDD: 4x WD RE4 1TB SATA II (Raid 10 Hardware).
I worried that HDD will be low to streaming for 200 user online

    Hi
If I was going to setup a vod streaming server I personally would use SSD and mediacache but its totally up to you.
SSD's are more expensive and you get less storage space but mediacache can be configured to use local disks in the server which will avoid using another server as a file store.

You can request mediacache by following the instructions here,

You can also look into using 32GB of RAM to keep more content cached in RAM.
