    Default Known Wowza HLS playback issues

    I don't see anything in the forums mentioning this so I hope that someone has worked worth the HLS player that comes with xbox360. One of our clients is trying to playback a VOD file with this player and gets the following error

    A first chance exception of type 'System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException'
    occurred in mscorlib.dll
    10:48:15.263 ThreadID=14(HLS MSS Worker Thread) Hit exception: Index was
    out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
    Parameter name: index

    at System.Collectio10:48:15.324 ThreadID=14(HLS MSS Worker Thread) HLS
    MSS Error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the
    size of the collection.
    Parameter name: index
    10:48:15.398 ThreadID=14(HLS MSS Worker Thread) DoCloseMedia
    10:48:15.451 ThreadID=1() CloseMedia is called
    The thread 'HLS MSS Worker Thread' (0xf90000e8) has exited with code 0
    (0x0).

    They are able to playback other HLS feeds and would like to know if there are any compatibility issues with wowza 3.0.3_12 and this particular player? We don't have access to the player so are unable to test. If there are any known Wowza HLS playback issues that this player maybe hitting we would appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks,

    Are there any corresponding Wowza logs when you try to playback this stream on that device? Run Wowza in stand-alone (/bin/startup.bat) mode so you can see log output in the console.

    Unfortunately I am not able to test the player. The customer was able to get it to work, here is what they said

    "It seems the first .ts chunk in your source has a h264 NAL unit that doesn’t have a PTS timestamp. One quick dirty hack to make this work is to use a code like this in h264 parser:"

    I assume that the library they rely on may be running into this issue

    http://www.wowza.com/forums/showthre...-media-streams

    where if the PTS is set as 0 they don't handle it.

    Is the file recorded in Wowza? If so, for future recordings, try adding this to the Application.xml /Streams /Properties list:

    <Property>
    <Name>recordWaitForVideoKeyFrame</Name>
    <Value>true</Value>
    <Type>Boolean</Type>
    </Property>
    If they are using the LiveStreamRecord addon or api, there is an equivalent setting.

    Hello, coworker of emanor here...

    This is a vod customer (this is not a live session). The customer did not say that pts==0 but that there was no pts included in the first h264 NAL. I have a ts chunk downloaded from the wowza using an http get that I can attach to an associated ticket (I don't want to post it in an open forum).
