Default Wowza + Realtime Voice Broadcast

    Hello,

    I needed some help.
I have a project requirement where a user/users will be giving realtime audio/voice captured via the browser. Now this voice needs to be broadcasted with minimal latency to all users again via their own browsers. Basically one way communication broadcasting.

    Is this possible via wowza...
Please suggest how this can be accomplished.

    Appreciate the help,
    Jaskaran

Yes, this is basic use case for Wowza. You might start with the VideoChat example (in the /examples folder that ships with Wowza) or this version of VideoChat which uses Speex.

You will just comment out Camera object to make it a voice only capture.

Whether you are using Speex of NellyMoser audio codec, you will have to transcode to mp3 or aac to be able to playback in clients other than Flash.

    Thanks alot Richard!
    This is very helpful.

Will this example(Video Chat) work for Broadcasting to multiple Listeners at the same time?
Will the same publishers voice be sent to multiple listeners at the same time.

Also is there any way to increase the audio volume.

    Thanks again

    Hi Jaskaran,

You can broadcast to multiple listeners by having each listener open the broadcaster's stream. There is a Flash method to set the volume. Check the Flash API documentation for more info.
