    Default Video Chat Example problem

I'm trying to make the Video Chat Example work.

I have one computer with Wowza server and one remote computer.

The remote computer can connect to server computer and see camera stream from server computer.

Server computer can not see camera stream from remote computer, although romote computer

publishes stream in the same fashion as servercomputer but with a different stream name (testing2 vs testing1).

Does anyone of you more experienced people know what the proble might be?

    Thank you for any help.

It can help very much to run Wowza in stand-alone (/bin/startup.bat) mode so you can see log output in a console.

You can see if a client location can reach Wowza by opening this location in a browser:
    http://[wowza-address]:1935
You should see Wowza version and build number. If not, port 1935 might be blocked by a firewall or not mapped in your network, e.g. port forwarded in a router

Default I've found the problem now

Thank you for your answer Richard. I've found the problem now:

***Hit license limit for publishing streams. Publishing stream is stopped***
The stream that is pulished first gets created the stream that is published last is not created.

    Hi
Are you using a developer license?
The developer license is restricted and can only have 1 inbound and 9 outbound streams.

More info on the developer license can be found here,

As I understand it you are saying that the video chat example will not work unless you buy a licence. Shouldn't that be written more explicitly so that users don't get frustrated with not being able to make the application work?

    I think 3.5 dev now allows 2.

Could you confirm that? In Free Developer License description; http://www.wowza.com/media-server/developers
there is still written only one stream in.

If there have been changes to the developer version so that 2 in streams are allowed in version 3.5, do you think i could get a 3.5 Free Developer License, although i allready got a Free Developer License for 3.1? Is there Free Developer License bound to a version or could I download 3.5 and use it for the rest of the Developer License period?

    Hi
If you haven't had a 30 day trail you can take one of those which has no restrictions regarding connection counts.

Regarding the upgrade, as far as I'm aware you can use the existing developer key with 3.5 and the expiry on the key will be the same date.

The 30-day tial is to short for me. It's good to know that i can use the developers license in 3.5 but it is of no use to me unless 3.5 with developers license allows two input streams.

With Wowza Media Server 3.5, the developer license allows 2 input streams. If you already have a developer license that you used with Wowza Media Server 3.1.2, you can use the same license with Wowza Media Server 3.5 and it will allow 2 input streams. In 3.5, the developer license remains good for 180 days from issue date.
