I am preparing for an upgrade from wowza 3.x to wowza 3.5. So far the new features look great.
I am especially glad to see that LiveStreamRecord has been integrated into Wowza, but I have a few questions that will greatly affect my upgrade proccess:
HTTP Provider Functionality - The previous versions of LSR had both the interface, and the HTTP Provider for accessing functionality over http. Originally, the only available actions over HTTP were startRecording, and stopRecording. This was frustrating, as in order to effectively use the provider, I needed to know if and what streams were recording, and if they were in fact really recording.
I wrote a few modules in the IDE to accomplish this, but they never really worked too well.
As I can see from the documentation, the new Web Interface for LiveStreamRecord does everything I need, but I need to do this stuff programmatically over HTTP:
The original LiveStreamRecord package had instructions and reference for doing this. The new Wowza 3.5 has no documentation about this functionality.
*Does the New Live Stream Record Function has this capability (Control via HTTP calls rather than the web interface) ?
*Are the new functionalities of Live Stream Record (See whats streaming, what recording etc..) available via HTTP calls?
*If so, where's the documentation? How can I use it?
*If this is not a feature, can I obtain the JAVA source for the new module so I can add this functionality?
