Default Edge/Origin setup compatible with addon modules

    Hi,

I read through edge/origin server setup and understand how it works but still have a few questions:

    1) Is dynamic stream alias possible with origin/edge setup?

    2) Is there a way to hide the origin stream? instead of rtmp://edge.ip/stream?origin.ip/stream just allow users to connect to rtmp://edge.ip/stream so they don't know the source address

    3) Is playing a stream on a edge server db-authentication supported?

Most importantly, is the only difference between a edge/origin server just some config changes? are all the modules are compatible with each "type" (origin or edge) , etc.

    1. Yes

    2. You can utilize the OrignURL on the edges.

    3. You can add a module to the edge or origin respectively that can communicate externally to authorize allowed playback (edge) and/or publishing (origin). There are many applicable examples depending on what you are aiming for within our Media Security Overview.

In general, there aren't a lot of configuration updates required to get setup running. Please see the following as you'll see the steps are minimal:
