    Default Recording On Demand

    Greetings,

I'm trying to configure recording on demand. I'm able to access and start/stop recordings via the web interface at:

    http://[username]:[password]@[wowza-address]:8086/livestreamrecord

However, sending data via GET doesn't work:

    http://[username]:[password]@[wowza-address]:8086/livestreamrecord?app=[appName]&streamname=[streamName]&action=startRecording

There's no output server side to indicate the request is being received.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Nick

    Nick,

    What do you see?

I tried this directly in a browser:

    http://localhost:8086/livestreamreco...startRecording

Even with incorrect values, like a application name that does not exist or stream name that is not live, I bounce over to http://localhost:8086/livestreamrecord/index.html and see the livestreamrecord web interface which shows what is recording.

Also, for username and password to work in the url like that you have to change its /conf/VHost.xml /HostPort /HTTPProvider /AuthenticationMethod to "admin-basic". There are several HostPorts, it is the middle one. Search for "com.wowza.wms.livestreamrecord.http.HTTPLiveStreamRecord"

    Hi Richard,

I have the VHost stuff configured correctly. I can login to the web interface and see the active streams and start/stop recordings from there. No problem there.

However, if I pass a string with correct app and stream name parameters, along with the startRecording command, nothing happens. I get bounced to the index page and I see a list of the active streams, but no recording starts.

Re-start Wowza, start the stream, play it back in Flash RTMP player to check it is live, then run this command again. Then zip up and send /conf and /logs to support@wowza.com

Include a link to this thread for reference.
