Default Streaming to Windows 7.5 Phones with Wowza and VLC?

    Hi there.

I have managed succesfully to transcode a mpeg-ts stream with VLC into h264 & AAC. VLC publishes this with RTP for the Wowza to pickit up rebublishing it to all LIVE streams (rtsp, HLS & Smooth Streaming).

RTSP outcome is easy to test with another VLC, Smoothstreaming as well with the Silverlight player included.

BUT, how to use this with lumia phone? how to write "player"?

I have tested HTML5 video tag, but in vain. JWplayer says immediately "no source" or something if code has
    file: "video.mp4/manifest"
    ..

True, Lumia phones are Microsoft's SmoothStreaming phones, questions is: what to write to html to make a player?
I will not install anyhing on my phone. Youtube and other videopublishers knows how to stram to lumia because they work directly off a webpage on the phone opening a buildin videoplayer.

You need a Silverlight player. You can see if the Wowza example works, but it might require using mobile sdk.

I don't understand.. In Windows devices I use flash JWplayer with rtsp streammode.
Wowza's smoothStreaming player page works in windows world ok.

In phone mode I want just to use phone's cababilities that is smooothStreaming.

I don't need to install anything on my phone if I watch youtube or other video services. In youtube video-click just openes phone's own videoplayer and video starts: no installations in my knowledge..
So.. what is on the youtibe html page that makes this happen?

Silverlight players are browser-based, so you don't have to install anything you just navigate to a web page.

Yes.. Why are you all missing the point:

Can anyone tell me WHAT TO write to the webpage?? How to establish the player link?

html5's <video> tag? no? <object> embeddibng? does JWplayer with it's HTML5 ability be able to handle WP userAgent properly?

We have Silverlight player examples in the /examples folder where Wowza is installed. It's a plugin similar to Flash. Look in the LiveStreaming and VideoOnDemandStreaming folders.

But I'm not sure if they will work in Windows Mobile.

    Hi frenksiner,

have you been able to overcome this issue somehow? I'm actually having exactly the same issue. There is also a similar post on StackOvervflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...windows-phones
