Default HDS video artifacts issue (with RTMP ok)

    Hello

    I ran into a problem.

Elecard transcoder generates stream and sends it through unicast to WMS. I accept it:

    PHP Code:
    cat content/ntv-mq.sdp
    o
    =- 1413122361 4 IN IP4 80.245.240.244
    s
    =NTV-MQ
    i
    =Elecard streaming
    u
    =http://www.elecard.com
    e=tsup@elecard.net.ru
    c
    =IN IP4 239.1.1.3/64
    t
    =0 0
    m
    =video 10106 RTP/AVP 33
    a
    =rtpmap:33 MP2T/90000
    a
    =control:trackID=0

    # in conf/StartupStreams.xml:

    <StartupStream>
                            <
    Application>dvr/_definst_</Application>
                            <
    MediaCasterType>rtp</MediaCasterType>
                            <
    StreamName>ntv-mq.sdp</StreamName>
                    </
    StartupStream
DVR Application is almost default DVR configuraton with caching and origin settings (for CDN).
As a player, we use a selfcustomized version of OSMF. As a reference, we use the test version from your example for live streaming.

    RTMP url plays almost correctly:
    http://httplab.ru/mediasystem/dvr/?s...layButton=Play

    BUT!

HDS url plays with horrible video artifacts:
    http://httplab.ru/mediasystem/dvr/?s...layButton=Play

When I add DVR url param to the HDS url it does not change nothing.
(But it changes the streamType in manifest file, with no DVR "streamType=live", but with DVR "streamType=recorded" parameter.
Is this correct? Why manifest does not render with "streamType=dvr"?)

Changing the browser, flash player version, the client computer and the OS does not change nothing.

Please help me to solve the problem.

Sorry, it's my fault. StreamType value in the manifest file is OK.

But the problem with the playback stream is still relevant.
If RTMP URL (rtmp://w2.mp.httplab.ru/dvr/ntv-mq.sdp) is played in JW6 player, the video displays correctly. (I used their official wizard for testing in the JW www.longtailvideo.com/jw-player/wizard/). But in default OSMF build video displayed incorrectly. And RTMP, and HDS.

In what may be the problem with this stream?

    What OSMF player, this one?
    http://www.osmf.org/configurator/fmp/

Have you tested with the Wowza FlashHTTPPlayers in the /examples folder where Wowza is installed?

No, I tested it on SMP built on the official repository latest commit.
FMP wizard page reproduces the same problem.

    Stream rtmp://w2.mp.httplab.ru/dvr/ntv-mq.sdp plays correctly.
Stream http://w2.mp.httplab.ru/dvr/ntv-mq.sdp/manifest.f4m plays with described artifacts, sound is OK, video is looped.

It plays badly in the Wowza FlashHTTP example player also.

It plays well in VLC over RTSP, and Flash RTMP.

What are the encoding details? What is the key frame frequency? Try a 2 second key frame frequency. Use Baseline 2.1 or 3 profile. Disable b-frames if you are using them.
