    Default live-lowlatency Stream not working if latency is to high, Australia <--> Europe

    Hi,

    my live video chat works perfectly if the users are in the same country (and the latency is quite good).

    But in case the latency is bad like 700ms , e.g. users in different continents the stream does not work.

    Any idea how to fix that problem? I am using the sample XML videochat configuration http://www.wowza.com/downloads/tutor...pplication.xml

    Thank you,

    peili

    Take a look at the recommendations in this guide:
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....re-to-playback

    And uncomment the /conf/VHost.xml /SocketConfiguration settings that are recommended for chat applications, and remove the default ones (carefully), so it looks something like:

    <SocketConfiguration>
    	<ReuseAddress>true</ReuseAddress>
    	<ReceiveBufferSize>32000</ReceiveBufferSize>
    	<ReadBufferSize>32000</ReadBufferSize>
    	<SendBufferSize>32000</SendBufferSize>
    	<KeepAlive>true</KeepAlive>
    	<!-- <TrafficClass>0</TrafficClass> -->
    	<!-- <OobInline>false</OobInline> -->
    	<!-- <SoLingerTime>-1</SoLingerTime> -->
    	<!-- <TcpNoDelay>false</TcpNoDelay> -->
    	<AcceptorBackLog>100</AcceptorBackLog>
    </SocketConfiguration>
    Avoid frame size over 320x240 in your application. 180x120 would be better.

    Limit the number of chatters in a group. If you are using the example as-is, that is not an issue.

    Otherwise, intercontinental live streaming can be problematic in general; the added low-latency requirement for real-time chat might be difficult to achieve reliably.

    Hi,

    Can you tell me more about the problem?
