Thread: Link Ajax/PHP with AS3 and Java?

Default Link Ajax/PHP with AS3 and Java?

If you like to construct a videochat with text it could be good to separate the textmessaging part from the video and audio part. Users without flash installed could then use the textmessaging without sound or picture since sound or picture require flash. I know that it is possible to make a auto update text chat with ajax/php but I am not sure how it would be possible to link it to Wowza so that the non flash textmessaging part and the flash bases audio/video part would work together. Could someone give me some hint or general advice about this problem?

You could use an HTTPProvider. There are several general examples here:

    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content.php?30

None of these examples interact with sharedObjects, but some drill down to application instance, and you would start there.

Thank you for your answer. I will look into the HTTPProviders. Is it possible that you could describe little more how in detail how you imagine the association between text and videostream in a chat that uses non-flash like php/ajax for the text. I have seen that streams could have data associated to them. Would it be possible to store the chat-text in the data that can be associated to streams?
