Default About playback nDVR on HD Box

    Hi support team,

My company provide many Live/Vod services on HD Box. This box using Sigma 8706 Chip

Now we're trying to playback nDVR with this Box (it has player built-in)

I'm trying to do but the player on the Box does not understand this link:
    http://118.69.167.186/dvr/vtv1_2500....nifest.f4m?DVR

However, it work fine with this:
    http://118.69.167.186/dvr/vtv1_2500....ylist.m3u8?DVR

But my team is trying to test whether it can be seeked to past time or only play as live. We'll have result soon.

    Any recommend for this purpose?

nDVR does not work on HD Box, cannot seek. It just play as live application.

You do need a OSMF 2.0 player for nDVR playback. Evidently this device does not use that. Perhaps it is a OSMF 1x player. If you can load a browser you might be able to use this one:

Sorry, I misread, I see that HLS is working for playback but not nDVR, while HDS does not work at all. You would need Flash on that device to follow my suggestion of using a browser and OSMF 2 configurator.

As for HLS nDVR playback, you will probably have to ask the manufacturer to consider adding support for nDVR.

    Thank you Richard,

    About playback on web:
    - Is OSMF have fallback mode for HLS (if there's no flash, like flowplayer)?
    - I'm testing nDVR on web client with flowplayer, but now I can see OSMF play Wowza nDVR more smooth & exactly in time and seek.
    - Maybe I'll change to OSMF player for flash, and write some codes to detect if there's no flash (HLS) then switch to playlist.m3u8 (quicktime player)

The OSMF (framework) players do not support HLS, only HDS (sanjose)

    Hi Richard,

There's a problem with DVR on Android.
OSMF plays DVR manifest.f4m link perfect on PC.
And I just use <video> tag to embed HLS link for apple devices
But on Android (test with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean), DVR does not work. Sometime it plays the stream but I cannot seek, and also, it does not start at live position.

    This is my test site:
    http://leee2510.byethost10.com/adaptive/osmf.html

Since Android 4.1 doesn't have flash, I believe it use the playlist.m3u8 link.

I have not heard of nDVR working on Android. I don't think it works at present.

    Hi Richard,

Today I've upgraded my server to 3.5.2 version, and dvr limited recording was solved! (cannot record longer than 30 hours in 3.1.1).
I'm testing dvr request api according to this thread:
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....st-Request-API

    Using OSMF setup page:
    http://osmf.org/dev/2.0gm/setup.html

    And here's my test link:
    http://118.69.167.186/dvr/vtv1_1000....uration=300000

    OSMF cannot play this link.

However, if I set wowzadvrplayliststart to 0, it works.

And the HLS link works fine too:
    http://118.69.167.186/dvr/vtv1_1000....uration=300000

Well, I've tried with OSMF version 1.6 and it works like a charm.
