Default Please provide a sample transcoder addon config for static mp2/mp3 audio streaming

    Hi!
I am using a trial with the latest 3.5.2 wowza in order to accomplish a proof-of-concept and see how
streaming of static content consisting mostly of mp2(.WAV) and mp3 works. Its easy to stream mp4
but streaming mp2/mp3 from static content requires config of transrate.xml and/or transrate.xml alternatively audioonly.xml
Either way i understood i need decode block (<Decode>) but i cant find any example of that.
So please provide an example of such a config. Config changes i made so far took me not further
but an error message like this
    WARN server comment test.mp3 MediaReaderH264.open[2]: java.lang.Exception: QTUti
ls.parseQTMediaContainer: File is missing 'moov' atom.

I am trying to test this by using VLC player, standalone, by "open network stream" and a link like this
    rtsp://localhost:1935/vod/test.mp3
test.mp3 is ofcourse present in the content map. mp4 works fine but not mp3

    Thanks a lot in advance
    Alex

The Wowza Transcoder has 3 templates that are ready to use. You can use the transcode.xml template.

    The basic guide is here:

Richard, the config you are suggesting only contains decode block With imagepath. I understand i need decode block containing mpeg1 or mp3 config or similar! Am i wrong based on above description ?

Oh, you are trying to Transcode a vod .mp3 file, which is not supported. The Transcoder works for live streaming.

You can stream the .mp3 file as a live stream, and transcode that live stream, using this scheduler:

Well its actually sound on demand not vod.

But using live streaming stops me from choosing what to stream runtime.!?
Is there realy no way to do that?

You have to pre-encode your files. We have a guide, though it is geared to video, but take look anyway:

For audio only, AAC in a mp4 container would work.
