Default Android and Live Adaptative Bitrate streaming

    Hi,

I'm using wowza to implement a solution for live streaming using Adaptative Bitrate for multiscreen iptv, to android devices (natif video player or tierce player like BSplayer) but :

RTMP/HDS needs a flash web player

HLS using smil file works with vlc but not working with android natif video player or BSplayer

    RTP/RTSP are not adaptative bitrate

Any indication to make it ?

    thanks in advance.

You've framed-up the problem well. There is not a general solution at present. I'm not sure of the latest and greatest Android, but the current Android client base is a hodgepodge of support for different technologies: Flash on some, HLS on others, and none of them working consistently for simple streaming much less ABR.

So what can you suggest to make a multiscreen solution for android smartphone, Tablet an set top box ?
Have I provide one streeam for each client?

For simple streaming, rtsp is the best way to reach the most Android devices. But, as you note, ABR is not supported over rtsp.
