I use VOD to stream an MP4 video with the following command :

http://IP:1935/vod/video.mp4/Manifes...yduration=6000
I use the sample smoothstreaming player.
Now, when I try to play with the link above, the progress bar show exactly the 6 seconds, the video stops playing after this time, but the audio keeps playing until the end of the file.
I updated to Wowza 3.5.2, with the same problem.

The Wowza output is this :
<SmoothStreamingMedia MajorVersion="2" MinorVersion="1" Timescale="10000000" Duration="60000000">
	<StreamIndex Type="audio" Index="0" Chunks="3" QualityLevels="1" Timescale="10000000" Url="QualityLevels({bitrate})/Fragments(audio={start time})/WowzaSessions(951348858).isma?wowzaplayduration=6000">
		<QualityLevel Bitrate="159983" FourCC="AACL" SamplingRate="48000" Channels="2" BitsPerSample="16" PacketSize="4" AudioTag="255" CodecPrivateData="1190"/>
		<c d="20053333"/>
		<c d="20053333"/>
		<c d="19893334"/>
	</StreamIndex>
	<StreamIndex Type="video" Chunks="6" QualityLevels="1" MaxWidth="720" MaxHeight="544" DisplayWidth="967" DisplayHeight="544" Timescale="10000000" Url="QualityLevels({bitrate})/Fragments(video={start time})/WowzaSessions(951348858).ismv?wowzaplayduration=6000">
		<QualityLevel Index="0" Bitrate="1512622" FourCC="H264" MaxWidth="720" MaxHeight="544" CodecPrivateData="00000001674d401ee9816822dff811000cab501010140000030004000afc803c58b4e00000000168ea8cb2"/>
		<c d="11600000"/>
		<c d="10000000"/>
		<c d="10000000"/>
		<c d="10000000"/>
		<c d="10000000"/>
		<c d="8400000"/>
	</StreamIndex>
</SmoothStreamingMedia>
So that looks OK to me.
