Thread: How to suppress http info logging?

  1. #1

    Default How to suppress http info logging?

    Is there a way to repress the "INFO server comment - LiveStreamPacketizer...." type messages?

    thanks

  2. #2

    Default

    You can enable/disable the logging options in [wowza-install-dir]/conf/log4j.properties

    Open log4j.properties file and remove the "INFO" in log4j.rootCategory parameter.

    would that kill all messages? I just want to exclude the overly verbose http packetizer chatter.

    Hi,
    You can remove the logging of http packetization by using the below Property in the Application.xml/LiveStreamPacketizer/Properties section.

    <Properties>
    	<Property>
    		<Name>maxChunkLogCount</Name>
    		<Value>-1</Value>
    		<Type>Integer</Type>
    	</Property>
    </Properties>
    I can confirm that this works however you will get the following in the log:

    This is not logging the creation of the chunks and this is all that will be displayed when using the above Property.
    **I have made a correction to the path of this Property** Application.xml/LiveStreamPacketizer/Properties is the correct section.

    Does this actually work for anyone? I have this property set in Application.xml/Streams/Properties as well as Application.xml/LiveStreamPacketizer/Properties with no change -- first 10 chunks are always logged.

    What version of Wowza are you using? Can you show the whole Application.xml?
