Thread: Error message when trying to use SMIL

  1. Default Error message when trying to use SMIL

    Wowza picks the stream from an encoder over RTSP. I created a .stream file and I'm able to watch the video in the Flash HTTP Player using http://ip-address:1935/live/camera.stream/manifest.f4m

    I created a SMIL file in the /content folder of Wowza; but when trying to play the video using the SMIL file, it returns with an error message "The F4M document contains errors URL missing from Media tag". The URL used for playing the SMIL is http://ip-address:1935/live/smil:cam...l/manifest.f4m

    The SMIL file is very simple:
    <smil>
    	<head></head>
    	<body>
    		<video src="camera.stream" system-bitrate="2048000">
    	</body>
    </smil>

    You need to add /Switch

    <smil>
        <head>
        </head>
        <body>
            <switch>
                <video src="camera.stream" system-bitrate="2048000">
            </switch>
        </body>
    </smil>

    Found out that the video tag must be closed with </video>. What I actually wanted is to use the PAR tag to play audio and video in parallel. But it seems like Wowza doesn't support that?
    <smil>
        <head>
        </head>
        <body>
            <par>
                <video src="camera.stream" system-bitrate="2048000"></video>
                <audio src="audio.stream" system-bitrate="96000"></audio>
            </par>
        </body>
    </smil>

    Anyone? Does Wowza support par and seq tags in SMIL files?
