    Default Process Uploaded Videos

We have an app that is recording and streaming videos(flv and mp4) using wowza. Now there is a requirement to upload user videos ( which may be in any format). Our storage is amazon s3.

We need to be able to convert these videos to flv or mp4 and also generate a thumbnail for them,

    1. Is there a possibility to write a service at the backend which can use wowza transcoder to transcode the videos?

    2. Similarly can I use wowza module ModuleCreateSnapshot to generate thumbnail from stored videos ?

No, sorry, Wowza does not support vod transcoding. It might be supported in a future version of Wowza. Meanwhile take a look at the AWS Transocder:
    http://aws.amazon.com/elastictranscoder/

It is much easier to use FFmpeg to generate snapshots from a recording without involving Wowza. That module is more useful for live streams.
