Thread: Transcoding while no one is watching?

  1. Default Transcoding while no one is watching?

We're doing some tests on transcoder performance (will publish them later). Feeds are 8 MPEG2 (SD) channels from DVB-S, so I created .stream files for the feeds and started the streams in Stream Manager. My question is: does the transcoding process actually happen even with no active connections (when no one is watching)?

    Default

Hi Karel, yes the transcoding starts when you publish a stream, it does not rely on playback.
