    Exclamation Android VOD problem

    Hi,

    Assume camera streams:

    H264
    NO AUDIO

    HLS format used for Android.

A file recordered by Wowza from this camera can't be play by Android.
The same file successfully played in browser.

sample.mp4 (provided by Wowza) file could be played with Android.
File recordered by VLC media player also works in Android.

    Any ideas appreciated

    Could you please response?

A media file created by Wowza doesn't work on Android.
The same one created by VLC does works.

So Wowza claims to support Android?

Hi Sam, Android supports video profile of baseline, and your stream that is not working has a profile of High.

When Wowza records it is just recording what your enoder is publishing. Android, as other mobile devices, are limited in what they can playback. As Sal mentions, H.264 Baseline 3 or lower is recommended. And we have found that at least some Android devices will only work with certain frames sizes. Try one of these:

    800x480
    480x320
    240x160

And take a look at the FFmpeg mobile example in the VOD encoding guide
