    Default Please help - livestream to iphone

    There is the setup:
    I have Adobe Flash media live encoder 3.2 on standalone machine as an encoder
    format video : H.264, no audio
    codec:H264, profile:Baseline, level:3.0, frameSize:720x576, displaySize:720x576, frameRate:25.0, PAR:1:1}

    Output is set to wowza server - another standalone in the network.
    I followed the tutorial :

    URL: rtmp://[wowza server]/live/myStream works perfect

    http://[wowza server]/live/myStream/playlist.m3u8 does not work at all.

    Im running wowza trial now.
    I need to know if this setup may work and if I need to buy transcoder as well.
    Please reply as soon as possible, my trial is running
    Thank you very much.

    Hi there,

    This set up should work, you can encode multiple bitrates through FLME if you need adaptive bitrate playback in conjunction with a .smil file.

    For playback make sure you include the port# in the url. http://[wowza-server]:1935/live/...

    Thank you for fast reply, it turns out that it is working on iphones, but not on Mac computers. Any ideas, or this setup should be the same for both iphones and macs.

    Hi Palo,

    For Mac you can use QuickTime for playback.
    in QuickTime, choose file/open location and enter the url for the stream.

    And yes, it should work for both Mac and IPhone

    Palo, to play the stream in Safari on a Mac you can create a .html file with an html5 video tag.

    <video controls src="http://[wowza-address]:1935/live/myStream/playlist.m3u8">
